In 2023, Nature Energy was acquired by Shell. They now belong to Shell Low Carbon Solutions.
As long as we eat, there will be organic waste products that we can convert into biogas, which can gradually be phased in as an energy source, especially in heavy transport and industry, where electricity is not always available.
At the same time, biogas contributes to a stronger security of supply of both energy and fertilizer for food production.
Biogas is an important part of Shell’s strategy to become a zero-emissions company by 2050. It is one of many low-carbon fuels – also called Low-Carbon-Fuels – that Shell produces to help customers around the world reduce their CO2 footprint.
