Bonn, December 3, 2019. With its current climate protection activities, the Federal Government of Germany is speeding up the transition to CO2-regenerative (sustainable) mobility. The manufacturers and distributors of alternative fuels and new drive technologies perceive this momentum as an important opportunity, and appeal to the Federal Government to set appropriate framework conditions for renewable solutions. In this context, experts will discuss the potential as well as the challenges for the industry at the 17th International Conference “Fuels of the Future” in Berlin on 20 and 21 January 2020.
“Through the use of biogenic and renewable fuels, the transport sector offers decisive opportunities for climate protection, which we now urgently need to exploit,” emphasises Artur Auernhammer, Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Bioenergy Association (BBE). “The technologies for CO2–regenerative (sustainable) mobility are ready. We now need to set the right course so that established renewable solutions as well as new concepts can finally penetrate the market,” says Auernhammer. In order to discuss the necessary framework conditions as well as already available and future solutions for climate-friendly mobility, the industry will meet at the most important European conference for renewable mobility in Berlin’s CityCube in January. The diverse spectrum of the industry will be reflected in top-level forums and will facilitate the exchange of know-how between economy and political decision-makers.
The International Conference “Fuels of the Future” is the European flagship event for renewable mobility and is hosted by the German Bioenergy Association (BBE) together with the Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Plants (UFOP), the Federal Association of the German Bioethanol Industry (BDBe), the German Biofuel Industry Association (VDB) and the German Biogas Association (FvB). It is sponsored by Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank, Germany’s development agency for agribusiness and rural areas.
