SMARTFERM is a semi-mobile, small-scale dry anaerobic digesting system designed to process and treat the organic fraction of municipal solid waste to recover energy and reduce the volume of solid waste that must be landfilled. The space-efficient, pre-fabricated, scaleable modular system is capable of processing between 4,000 and 20,000 tons per year. Operating costs are low and are offset by harvesting high quality compost and biogas that can be converted to power or fuel (CNG) from waste materials.
