Our patented gas-collection cover design includes a series of lateral floats that provide pathways for gas to flow beneath the cover to the perimeter collection pipe, and on to a single withdrawal point. Traditional floating covers that inflate with biogas expose the geomembrane cover to vibration and fatigue from wind, which significantly reduces the life span of the cover.

IEC’s floating covers use lateral floats instead, which keeps the entire cover floating on the liquid surface, preventing exposure to wind. Additionally, ballast weights placed on top of the floating cover channel rainwater and snow melt to sumps, which remove all rainwater from the surface.

Gas-Collection Covers
IEC’s Covers are customized to fit the geometry of your pond, lagoon or tank. They are designed by our engineers with more than 25 years of continuous cover design experience.
IEC’s patented gas-collection cover design includes a series of lateral floats that provide pathways for gas to flow beneath the cover to the perimeter collection pipe, to one or more withdrawal points. The lateral floats also work to keep the entire cover floating on the liquid surface, this minimizing wind exposure to extend their lifespan.

Modular Floating Covers

IEC’s patented Modular Floating Cover System for manure ponds, tanks and lagoons is comprised of a series of individual casings (panels/modules), which are connected to form a complete, floating cover system.

How it works
Each individual casing consists of a flexible closed-cell insulation encapsulated and sealed with an impermeable geomembrane. The result is a unique floating cover system that controls odors, provides insulation value ranging from R-4 to R-17; and is engineered and manufactured to specific dimensions/basin requirements.
