VSEP Technology – New Logic Research
Digesters can produce methane, but are not a complete water treatment solution by itself. In each case, the remaining digestate effluent water would need to be land applied or disposed of safely in some other way. Direct surface water discharge would not be possible. VSEP RO membrane filtration can be used effectively to treat the effluent from a biogas plant for surface water discharge or reuse. In addition, the VSEP system will concentrate many of the nutrients contained in the effluent and can yield a profitable value added stream of concentrated fertilizer that can be shipped as a slurry, or dried to make a dry fertilizer.
