The separation mill consists of a hammer mill, in which the mechanical unpacking of input material, the biomass milling to create the substrate, the substrate washing or dilution, as well as the separation and washout of contaminants occur.
The unpacked and contaminant-free biomass is pulverized through a cylinder mill and a sieve mill, and flows into the pump storage tank from which it is either transferred into a storage container or directly pumped out. Contaminants (glass, metals, plastics, etc.) are expelled via an output tray. A screw press, integrated in the discharge chute, squeezes out the fluids still present in the impurities. A special water connection in this press allows for a further washout of impurities in highly contaminated input material (e.g. organic waste, compost). The fluids from the discharge press are returned directly into the separation mill.
